A COMPLETE HISTORY OF THE I.H.A.

Statistics are a good thing. But nostalgia is better. Reliving the 'good ol days' can often be a calming voice in our hectic, modern world. Don'tcha think? And if there was ever a time when TABLE HOCKEY didn't play a role in my good ol' youthful past; well I certainly don't remember it. Probably don't need to remember it.

Y'know son - sometimes it seems like a hundred years ago since I last scored a table hockey goal by purposely deflecting a slapshot off the face of my strategically positioned right winger and then into the net, after first firing the oversized, chipped wooden puck with my MVP right defenceman. I have to admit, it was always a moment of delicious satisfaction to see the hard plastic netting bulge. "He shoots - he scores!" A well rehearsed play like that would immediately bring a gasp from the person controlling the opposing players at the other end of the rink. A gasp that usually indicated imminent surrender. And then other times, those kind of goals can seem like they happened only yesterday.

Whenever you can 'marry' needlessly exhaustive, painfully detailed statistics to your old cherished boyhood sports memories, then you KNOW you've got the basis for a truly rewarding website. And that's exactly what's going on here with these official I.H.A. pages. Rather than have all these table hockey facts and figures gathering dust downstairs in the storage space - unseen by the eyes and ears of today's trendier hobbies - we've taken the logical and sensible step of uploading everything onto a website for the whole world to admire.

Oh sure, we may have called it 'Irrelevant' at one time, but we were just kids back then; what did we know? In many ways, it turned out to be the most relevant thing we've ever done.

Al Coholic. (Owner/operator of the right defencemen with the most goals in a seven-game playoff series.)
